Abstract

This article focuses on examining of behavior of cracks due to corrosion of rebar and comparing performance of the bonding agent between concrete and repair material affecting the initial corrosion cracking time due to reinforcement corrosion.  Simulated repair of reinforced concrete structures and testing the accelerated corrosion reaction were conducted. Repair mortar was used as the repair materials and latex and epoxy were used as the bonding agent. The behavior of cracks due to corrosion of the reinforcing steel of the tested samples gave different results. Comparing the performance of the bonding agent, it was found that the samples cast with the repair mortar and the epoxy-bonding agent had the slowest initial cracking time. The next one was the sample cast with a whole specimen of repair mortar material, followed by the samples cast with repair mortar material with latex bonding agent respectiely. The samples cast with repair mortar material without bonding agent have the fastest initial cracking time.
