Risk Identification and Assessment for Construction Contractors: Focusing on Interior and Renovation
Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the risks that interior and renovation construction contractors encounter particularly those risks that have a negative influence on the business. This case study employs a combined research approach, including questionnaires and semi- structured interviews, with seven construction contractors, involving Project Managers, Engineers, Architects Foremen, and Safety Officers, to assess and plan responses to risks. The rationale of this research is to better understand how these individuals manage risks and respond to them. The research applies the use of analytical data to provide risk response guidelines for building renovation projects. As a consequence, risks are divided into three categories: financial management, construction delays, and safety hazards. The results of the analysis evaluate the risks and provide contractor response recommendations.
