Study on Efficiency of Spiral Fiber from Aseptic Carton Waste for Cement-Bonded Composite Board
Abstract
This research aims to investigate the efficiency of spiral fiber from aseptic carton waste for cement-bonded composite board. The mechanical, and physical properties of aseptic carton waste cement boards (ACWCB) developed were studied. The ACWCB were produced at density of 1,000 kg/m3. The cement-to-fibers ratios by weight of 80:20 and 70:30 were prepared at the same water-to-cement ratio of 0.6.The size of ACWCB is 30 cm in width x 30 cm in length and 2 cm in height. The mechanical and physical properties were evaluated namely, modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), water absorption (WA) and thickness swelling (TS). Based on the result obtained, it can be summarized that the optimum cement-to-fiber ratio was found to be 70:30 with two spiral fibers.
