Highway maintenance project prioritization : Super-Efficiency DEA Approach

Abstract

Highway maintenance plays an important role in keeping a good transportation network performance. Due to the number of rural highway maintenance projects, the project prioritization is therefore a factor that will result in efficient budget allocation. This study uses the Super-efficiency Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method for the prioritization of the rural highway maintenance. The inputs and outputs are considered from the engineering, social, economic and environmental information. From the case study in Chiang Rai province, the results reveal a score for the priority of each route. The Engineering factor seems to be the most significant factor.
