Abstract

This paper reports on the physical properties of high-strength cellular lightweight concrete, made from expanded perlite mixed with PRE-FORMED FOAM. Dry density of cellular lightweight concrete about 800 kg/m3, steam curing at age of 1 day in the temperature controlled room at 60 ° C, 80 ° C, and 100 ° C, relative humidity 80±5%, and pressure 2±1 kg/cm2 for 12 h. The properties of compressive strength, water absorption, dry density and microstructure were tested. The results founded that the compressive strength are between 22 - 48 kg/cm2, which has higher compressive strength as the steam curing temperature increases. The water absorption are between 31 – 44 %, which decreases with increasing steam curing temperature.
