Analysis of Facility Management Problems of Buildings in Government University

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to study the physical conditions and the building resource management problems of the school building of faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University. Second, to analyse and understand the problems of building facility management. Third, to improve the efficiency of maintenance and management of the building. On the research was conducted in mainly two parts. First of all was to be analysis of the physical problems of the building. I found that the building is still in good conditions, only some minor defects are appeared from the deterioration in the building. Secondly was analysis of the problems of building facility management by conducting the management, employee and staff survey. As the result, the Thai-culture is still being the most challenge and difficult part to maintain and keep the building in good clean conditions. Since most of users is lack of sense of cleanliness responsibility. I suggest that they should focus on the procedure of the building management and the budget should be well managed on the process. Education and training will help generate and improve over all public responsibility and attitude of all users.
