Construction supervision problems in road work of local administrative organizations

Abstract

The objective of this study is to study the problems that occurred in the process of construction supervision in road work under construction management of Ban Bueng Municipality, Chonburi province. The results of this study can be applied to improve the work efficiency and reduce errors. The instruments used in this study is questionnaires collecting from current contractors or former contractors of Ban Bueng Municipality 51 persons. The questionnaire is divided into 2 parts. Part I is the general information of respondents and part II is the inquiring about the frequency and severity of the factors causing the problem in the process of construction supervision in road work. The sets of tool used in the analysis of descriptive statistics are percentage, mean, standard deviation and severity index. From the analysis, it is found that the top 3 problems in the process of construction supervision in road work are (i) insufficient worker for workload, (ii) problems arising from the employment of influential contractors and (iii) defects of construction plan, respectively.
