The Satisfaction of Agriculturists Concerning Water Usages in Irrigation Area A Case study of Tha Bot Operation and Maintenance Project, Chainat Province

Abstract

The study of the satisfactions of Agriculturists concerning water usages for irrigation in Tha Bot irrigation Project consisted of 3 issues namely. 1) Water management 2) Water supply and maintenance of irrigation systems 3) The services of the officers. The data were collected from 400 agriculturists using questionnaires. The study area was divided into 1) Upstream      2) Midstream 3) Downstream sections. SPSS for Windows was utilized for data analysis. Agriculturists in the upstream and midstream sections showed high level of satisfaction regarding all issues during the dry seasons. Downstream section agriculturists, however, showed moderate level of satisfaction on the second issue due to the shortage of irrigation water for downstream section. In rainy seasons, all agriculturists in the study area expressed high level of satisfaction on the 3 issues.
