Abstract

Local roads, run by local administration authority, accounts for 597,667 Kilometer distance or takes 80% of entire roads of Thailand, which have their functions to provide accessibility for community and connectivity to upper classified roads. These roads, when they are maintained effectively, could result in not only pavement performance, but also successful budgeting planning and that to grow economy for local areas.

Road routine maintenance work, such as minor pothole repairing and glass cutting—as being not ignorable for small problems that could become large problems for the roads, is an early stage of road maintenance to extend pavement life and reduce its risk of incremental failure. Such work consists of e.g., the assignment of maintenance activities, the planning and estimation of operation costs, by which these works are essential to annual budgetary allocation for maintenance purposes.
