The analysis of water problem in each district of Phatthalung province according to twenty-year Master Plan for Water Resources Management.

Abstract

Water is an important resource for the national economic. The main factor supporting the expansion of the agricultural, Industrial and tourism field. Meanwhile, water resource problems have been a major issue in Thailand for an exceedingly long time. Especially the flood and drought problems in Phatthalung province which frequently occurred due to the lack of capability of terrain and insufficient problems solving. It was investigated that Phatthalung province has approximately 186,000 rai (297.6 square kilometers) of flooded areas and 2,500 rai (4 square kilometers) of drought areas. This article is going to represent the analytical result of water problems and severity level in sub-district areas in term of water consumption, Production sector, flood, water quality, upstream forest and management from investigating the empirical data obtained through questionnaires from people affected in the area comparing with scientific data, such as the repeated flood, drought, degraded forest area Including using mathematical models to analyze flood-affected areas according to the 20-Year master plan on Water Resource Management (2018-2037). This will show the results of comparing the problem and the severity in the form of a sub-district map.
