A Study of Factors in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Implementation for Organizations in Thai Construction Industry

Due to the large size of the construction project and the complexity of the construction process, causing more conflicts in the construction process today, one type of technological application in construction called Building Information Modeling or BIM is an alternative to reduce such problems. However, the application of BIM technology is still new to the construction industry in Thailand, so the application of BIM requires a study of factors affecting the organization. This research aims to study internal and external factors by applying SWOT analysis tools to analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in BIM application for organizations in the Thai construction industry. The questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data from the samples. The study found that organizations in the construction industry Have opinions on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the same direction, such as the use of BIM technology helps promote effective coordination between Architecture, structure, and system work very well, and education and promotion of BIM knowledge will make the use of BIM more widespread in the future, etc.
