CALCIUM FLY ASH GEOPOLYMER MORTAR IS A CEMENT PIPE COATING MATERIAL AGAINST SULFURIC ACID CORROSION
Abstract
Cement pipes are used as a facility for the transfer of domestic sewage and wastewater from industrial plants due to their low cost. However, cement pipes are not resistant to acids because the calcium compounds in cement can be dissolved in acids, increasing porosity, resulting in degradation of cement pipes. Cement pipe coating is one of the methods of protection against acidic corrosion. Geopolymer is a material with good mechanical properties and good anti-corrosion due to acid Therefore, the geopolymer material is the guideline for conducting this research work. The qualifications studied are: Geopolymer properties test fresh and solidified under corrosion by 3 percent sulfuric acid by immersing the test sample in sulfuric acid at 7 and 28 days.
