THE SOLUTION OF TRAFFIC PROBLEM ON HIGHWAY 2 CASE STUDY: PHOL, KHONKARN(TONTAN INTERSECTION - PHON HOSPITAL INTERSECTION)

Abstract

The objective of this research is to solve traffic congestion problems, and accumulated on Highway 2 (Phon District, Khon Kaen Province) around Ton Tan intersection Phon District Intersection, and the intersection of Phon Hospital, which is the main route to other provinces In the Northeast, there is a very high demand for this route, for this reason, it makes the traffic jam problem and accumulation that will increase in every year.

From the preliminary study on Highway 2 (Phon District, Khon Kaen Province) around the Ton Tan intersection. Phon District Intersection And the intersection of Phon Hospital all three Intersection It is the main intersection that connects each other on Highway 2. The researcher found that the traffic congestion and accumulated congestion were caused by 2 factors: 1.) heavy traffic volume on each time 2.) the volume of buses and trucks (6 or more wheels) that use the traffic lanes in both traffic lanes. The researcher will study and find ways to solve traffic problems according to engineering principles with traffic models to find suitable methods to accommodate the commuters' round-trip. And affect people in the area during a peak hours period or a short vacation to a minimum and create convenience, speed, safety, and efficiency
