Structural Analysis and Design of Railway Passenger Coach For Thailand Meter Gauge Track
Abstract
At present, Thailand has invested in and developed rail transportation in both the infrastructure and the railway-related industries. This is to upgrade domestic technology as well as help reduce imports. However, domestic train production is still limited in technology to analyze and design train structures to suit domestic use. The research has studied the design guidelines for passenger carriage structures for use in Thailand. It operates for Thailand meter gauge. The design is carried out in accordance with international standards EN-12663, UIC-518, and the State Railway of Thailand. It considers various safety factors, both static and dynamic, and compares the performance of different structures, namely differential construction and hybrid construction. The finite element method was analyzed in both the part and the junction to examine the structure's behavior under various loads. The results of the study show the comparison of weight, performance, usage, including the construction cost of train cars that use different types of structures. This is to serve as a guideline for designing and producing locomotives suitable for use in Thailand further.
