Abstract

Urbanization leads to the expansion of an area of the building, where is necessary for living, it replaces the natural area, that caused the decrease in biotope area. Thailand located in a tropical area, where has a tropical rainforest climate, then in the rainy season, Thailand was influenced by the southwest monsoon, that caused the torrential rain in the area, meanwhile the same size of basin area also caused the runoff at the surface. Therefore, the methods increase in the runoff for the low impact development, e.g., Green roof, Green wall, Porous paving, Infiltration trenches, Bioretention swales, Bioretention basins etc. Accordingly, this research chose the Green roof method to increase in runoff because this method did not use any land to manage, it used difficult layer of material, then these materials are inexpensive and readily available in Thailand. For the objective of this research is to study and develop to improve the efficiency of the runoff on the roof. Consequently, the study of runoff per cost can be used as a guideline for the efficient Green roof development.
