The 31st National Convention on Civil Engineering of Thailand

Since 1994, the National Convention on Civil Engineering has taken place annually. This year marks the 31st event, hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, in collaboration with the Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. The King’s Patronage (EIT). The event is strongly supported by higher education institutions across the country, as well as by government agencies, state enterprises, and private sector organizations related to civil engineering. It is scheduled to take place from May 27 to 29, 2026, at the Grand Palazzo Hotel Convention Center, Pattaya, Chonburi Province.

This year’s theme is “The Role of Civil Engineers in Responding to Disaster Challenges in the Era of Global Boiling.” The current climate crisis has led to global warming and an increase in natural disasters such as droughts, floods, wildfires, and earthquakes, which occur more frequently and with greater severity. These events have reduced national productivity and caused significant damage to lives, properties, land, buildings, and infrastructure—issues that directly concern civil engineers. Therefore, sharing and exchanging research, innovation, and technology in civil engineering will promote a sustainable, environmentally friendly, and carbon-neutral society.

This convention aims to provide a platform for researchers and contributors to present and exchange knowledge derived from research, innovation, and technology in civil engineering for mutual benefit among presenters and participants. It also encourages collaboration from government agencies, state enterprises, private companies, and other organizations to exchange knowledge, innovation, technology, products, and services. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for students to gain valuable industry insights and practical experiences, that enhance their professional skills and knowledge. In addition, distinguished speakers will be invited to share their expertise, and the event will serve as a venue for networking and friendship-building among those in the civil engineering profession.

Through cooperation among sponsors and attendees, this conference will foster the development of both society and industry by applying knowledge toward the advancement of civil engineering. This represents a valuable investment that contributes to sustainable growth. Last year’s event attracted around 600 participants, reflecting the strong interest in this field. This year’s convention thus presents an important opportunity for exchanging knowledge and experiences among experts, researchers, students, professional engineers from both public and private sectors, companies, and anyone interested in civil engineering. The goal is to build a body of knowledge and innovation in civil engineering, carry research forward, and contribute to sustainable economic and social development for the country’s future.
