UAV-Assisted Traffic Surveillance with Anchor-Free Object Detector and Tracking
Keywords:
Traffic surveillance, UAV, object detection, object trackingAbstract
This project aims to study the application of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for traffic data collection and engineering mapping within the Department of Highways' responsibility areas. Data were gathered from UAV-mounted cameras and ground-based cameras to analyze traffic volume, speed, and density, as well as aerial imagery processing for detailed mapping. Various UAV flight experiments were conducted over road segments, intersections, and roundabouts. The results support the development of traffic surveillance and engineering mapping systems in the future.
