The 32nd National Convention on Civil Engineering

Rationale

The National Convention on Civil Engineering has been held continuously on an annual basis since 1994 up to the present. This year marks the 32nd occasion, with the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ubon Ratchathani University, together with the Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. the King's Patronage (EIT), serving as the hosts for this event. With strong support from higher education institutions nationwide, government agencies, state enterprises, and private organizations involved in civil engineering, the convention is scheduled to be held from 26 to 28 May 2027 at Sunee Grand Hotel, Ubon Ratchathani Province.

This convention is held under the theme "Civil Engineering for a Resilient, Sustainable, and Smart Digital Future," representing a systematic continuation of the development direction from the previous year, which emphasized disaster preparedness, adaptation to the digital era, and sustainable development. This year, therefore, focuses on "joining forces and elevating integration" by employing smart digital technology as the primary tool to build resilience in the face of all changes (resilience), aiming toward the concrete development of infrastructure and society that is genuinely sustainable.

The concept of this convention is for presenters of papers related to research findings, innovations, and technologies relevant to civil engineers to exchange and learn together, generating benefits for both the presenters and the participants of the convention. In addition, the convention aims to provide supporters from government agencies, state enterprises, companies, and business establishments with the opportunity to present and exchange knowledge, innovations, technologies, products, and services with convention participants. It also helps create opportunities for students to gain real-world information and experience in the field of civil engineering, enabling them to develop their skills and knowledge in this profession. Furthermore, distinguished speakers have been invited to share their experiences, and the event serves as a platform for those involved in civil engineering to meet, build friendships, and create shared memories.

Through cooperation among supporters and participants in this convention, we can develop society and industry in the country. Bringing knowledge to improve and develop the field of civil engineering is therefore a worthwhile investment that contributes to increasing the sustainability of society and industry as a whole. Last year, approximately 600 people showed interest in participating in the National Convention on Civil Engineering. Therefore, this year represents a significant opportunity to open up a world of exchange and transfer of knowledge and experience in civil engineering among experts, researchers, students, and civil engineers practicing professionally in both the public and private sectors, companies, and business establishments, as well as the general public who are interested—to create knowledge and innovations in the field of civil engineering efficiently and to extend research toward contributing to the economic and social development of the country in a greater and more sustainable future.
